Why should you contact 988?

  • If you are facing difficulties, it’s perfectly fine to open up about your emotions.
  • Whether you are contemplating suicide or simply need emotional support.
  • If you have concerns about a friend, family member, or loved one, assistance is always available.

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Line operates 24/7 nationwide, offering confidential assistance to individuals grappling with thoughts of suicide or mental health-related distress. When you call, text, or chat with 988, you'll be connected to mental health professionals within the Lifeline Network. These trained crisis counselors can guide you through any mental health crisis you or someone you know may be experiencing. 988 is accessible to non-English speakers and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Families with children are welcome to check in at 4:30 p.m. each day, and our individual guests can check in at 6:00 p.m. Companion pets are also welcome and will be checked into our pet hotel for your overnight stay. Guests are asked to check out by 7:00 a.m. each morning. Our shelter opens seven days a week, 365 days a year and offers guests secure storage for their belongings, showers, a mailing address, case management, housing navigation, and a safe and calm environment for a good night's rest. Beds fill up quickly, so reservations are highly encouraged.
